The Mira
Physical Traits
The first thing one thinks of when looking upon a Mira, other than the natural reaction of "Cat", is dominating. Often on the taller and slimmer side rather than bulk, the Mira are the definition of sleek and toned. The males among the Mira average between 5 1/2 feet and 6 1/2 feet tall, with the tallest Mira recorded being 7 foot, one inch. Females are significantly shorter, with the average ranging between 5 and 6 feet in height. The weight of the creatures is far more subject to variable, ranging greatly in width and shape, from lithe to broad of shoulder.
Culture
Rearing:
Children of the Mira are not raised individually by any one parent, but rather in groups and by the entirety of the tribe. It is a shared responsibility to maintain the education and rearing of the young.
Raised in the ways of combat and war from the age they can walk, there is little room for play amongst the children of the Mira. In a society where only the strongest survive little is spared in their education.
The rigorous nature of their upbringing builds strong ties between the young and their caregivers, such that the tribe is parent to them all.
Honor and tradition is paramount to their rearing and diligent care is taken in teaching them the values that every Mira must uphold.
Hierarchy:
The Mira are led by the Shief whos word is law in all matters save for those of the divine in which he must give way to the words of the Shamana. At his right hand stands his second and at his left his mate. Though a predominantly male dominated hierarchy, females with the combat prowess to do so have been known to claim the Right of Power.

Right of Blood:
The Mira hold several traditions in very high regard - the very highest being that no Mira shall kill another Mira. This tradition came about during a period of great turmoil due to extinction that the Mira very narrowly avoided, and in order to maintain their numbers and their war-like, combat-fueled nature, they had to uphold this tradition.
Right of Succession:
Amongst the oldest of their traditions is the right of succession, that a Sheif's cubs will inherit the Sheif's duties and responsibilities, once they are of age and the Sheif has passed on. If there is an overthrowing, or a successful challenge of the Sheif's skills in combat, the offspring are expected to challenge the power of the usurper upon coming of age. However, it is not uncommon for a successful challenger to force the offspring of the old Sheif into exile, for fear of facing an inevitable challenge themselves.
Right of Power:
The Right of Power is another that also dates back to their early years. The Mira respect prowess over all else. Every Mira has the right to hold that which they can seize through power and experience - even the status of Shief. A strict hiearchy is determined through combat prowess and the right for any Mira to challenge another for status and renown. However, the Right of Blood supersedes this and to yield is honorable.

Legend tells of a time when the Mira's need was great and their numbers few.Beset upon by great enemies and with their clans shattered the scattered tribes came together to make a stand. The last of the shamani joined in earnest prayer to beseech the divine aid them in their time of need. Such a joining of shamani that had not occurred since the dawn of the Mira and their voices did not go unnoticed.
As the days darkened and all hope seemed lost, the Mira stood strong through the trials of fire and blood. Even as their days became numbered and the last of their kin wavered beneath the dark magic that ravished the lands, it is said that not one of the Mira broke. Strong of spirit and brave of heart, the Mira met their foes with a ferocity never before seen.
A ferocity of the likes to capture the heart of Le'thorian, last of the ancient woodland spirits and lady of the wood. It is said that she came to them from the divine itself, an answer to their prayers and with her touch a blessing was placed upon the Mira. No longer did the Mira suffer claw and fang for the bite of both upon their hide was turned away. No longer did the Mira fear the void and arcane trickery for every manner of spell and magic placed upon them washed away as if beneath the spring rains.
And so goes the legend of Le'thorian's blessing.

TEHRAN, Iran ? Iran prepared a high-profile welcome for its diplomats expelled Friday from London in retaliation for attacks on British compounds in Tehran that Western leaders claim were sanctioned by Tehran's ruling elite.
The official reception planned for the roughly two dozen diplomats and their families ? including a rare invitation to foreign media to cover the airport event ? apparently was designed to send a message that Iran will not seek quick measures to heal the most serious diplomatic fallout with the West since the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy after the Islamic Revolution.
Germany, France and the Netherlands have recalled their ambassadors, and Italy and Spain summoned Iranian envoys to condemn Tuesday's storming of the British Embassy and residential complex.
Britain withdrew its diplomatic staff and their families, shuttered its ransacked embassy and ordered the Iranian diplomats expelled by Friday afternoon.
The larger blow may be to Iran's relations with the West and others. The diplomatic freeze from Europe, including key trading partner Germany, further isolates Iran just weeks after a report by the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency that alleged Iran was making strides toward mastering critical elements for atomic weapons.
Iran claims its nuclear program only seeks reactors for power and research. But the current breakdown in relations with the West could embolden hard-liners who want a tougher stance against the International Atomic Energy Agency, which they accuse of being manipulated by the U.S. and allies.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Iran will certainly "retaliate" for the British expulsions.
The British Foreign Office said "all diplomatic staff of the Iranian Embassy in London took off from Heathrow airport" on Friday afternoon. They were to be welcomed back by a group of Iranians early Saturday at the Tehran airport, Iran's semiofficial Fars news agency reported.
The offer for foreign media to cover their arrival stands in sharp counterpoint to an order Thursday banning non-Iranian outlets from reporting on rallies in front of the now-vacant British diplomatic sites in the capital without specific permission.
Britain's ambassador to Iran, Dominick Chilcott ? now back in Britain ? offered new details about the attacks, saying the experience had been "frightening."
"We had no idea how it was going to end," he said, describing how the mob trashed rooms, damaged furniture, scrawled graffiti and tore up a portrait of Queen Victoria, as staff took shelter in a secure area of the embassy.
"It felt like very spiteful, mindless vandalism, but it wasn't quite mindless," Chilcott said. "They removed anything that was electronic ? mobile telephones, personal computers ? anything that might give information about who you were talking to or what you were doing."
He said seven staff at a separate residential compound that was also attacked were seized and "quite roughly handled" by the invaders.
Hard-liners in Iran have said the attack was an outpouring of the wrath of the Iranian people who believe Britain is a hostile country seeking to damage and weaken the Islamic Republic. Mohammad Mohammadian, a representative of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, praised the attackers, saying they had targeted the "epicenter of sedition."
Iranian government officials, meanwhile, said the storming of the embassy by angry protesters was unexpected and Iranian police intervened to protect the British diplomats and get the attackers out of the buildings.
British Foreign Secretary William Hague has led the accusations that the rioters had a green light from Iranian authorities, including the powerful Revolutionary Guard. On Thursday, he said the attacks were "clearly premeditated" by high-ranking officials.
The demonstrations had been organized by hard-line groups on university campuses and Islamic seminaries and included denunciations of the latest sanctions on Iran over its nuclear efforts. Such major anti-Western rallies are rarely allowed to occur without official approval and often include state-backed forces including a paramilitary group known as the Basij, which is part of the vast security network controlled by the Revolutionary Guard.
Images broadcast around the world showed demonstrators tearing down Union Jack flags, brandishing a looted picture of Queen Elizabeth II and tossing out looted documents.
The deepening tensions with Britain and others may also trigger further rifts within Iran.
For months, Iran's ruling system has ordered arrests and intimidation against political allies of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has sharply fallen from favor after challenging decisions by the head of the theocracy, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Ahmadinejad has remained silent since the attacks, but his supporters have raised questions about whether Iran's interests are served by a diplomatic battle with the West.

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - With no new films opening wide on what is typically the slowest moviegoing weekend of the year, the one after Thanksgiving, Disney's "The Muppets" is expected to finish No. 1 at the domestic box office.
Entering its second weekend, "The Muppets" has already grossed $44.4 million. The PG reboot is predicted to take in around $20 million this weekend.
Expected to finish a close second in its third weekend, Summit Entertainment's "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1" passed the $500 million mark at the global box office just this past week. It should challenge "The Muppets" for the No. 1 spot this time around.
Meanwhile, the GK Films/Paramount family movie "Hugo" is expanding from 1,277 locations to around 1,800 theaters, but is only expected to bring in around $8 million. The PG-rated 3D film, directed by Martin Scorsese and produced at a cost of more than $150 million, grossed just $15.3 million over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Also marketing a PG movie that had a slow start over the holiday, Sony and Aardman are hoping for an uptick for "Arthur Christmas" after it opened up to just $16.3 million.
With no movies entering wide release, much of the attention at this weekend's box office will be on the pre-Oscar arthouse circuit.
And the indie film with the biggest buzz is Fox Searchlight's "Shame," Steve McQueen's NC-17-rated movie about sexual addiction. Starring Michael Fassbender, "Shame" opens Friday in 10 theaters in the U.S. and one in Canada.
Fassbender's performance -- and nudity -- have generated a great deal of press for the film. And reviews have been strong, with "Shame" registering an 82 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes as of late-afternoon Thursday.
"With all the publicity that we've received, I think it's going to be terrific," said Sheila DeLoach, executive VP of distribution at Fox Searchlight.
A distribution executive at a rival studio projected that the movie will gross between $125,000 and $150,000, which would be a strong limited debut.
Fox Searchlight has another significant indie in the weekend mix -- the holdover "The Descendants." That R-rated movie, directed by Alexander Payne and starring George Clooney, is expanding from 433 to 574 theaters in its third week of release.
The film has already grossed more than $12.4 million after two weekends of limited play. And it grossed more than $1.5 million from Monday through Wednesday this week.
Other specialty movies opening this weekend include Roadside Attractions' "Answers to Nothing," starring Dane Cook and Barbara Hershey, and IFC's "Sleeping Beauty." The foreign films "I Am Singh" from Reliance, "Pastorela" from Lionsgate and "Outrage" from Magnolia, also open Friday.
Howard Cohen, co-president of Roadside Attractions, told TheWrap that the company is hoping to establish "Answers to Nothing" on a weekend when there aren't a lot of other movies for the adult audience that are opening.
"We're optimistic," he said.
Among indie holdovers, leading Oscar contender "The Artist" will add two more engagements in its second weekend of play, bringing its theater count to six.

LONDON ? Iranian diplomats have chartered a plane and are expected to leave Britain on Friday, expelled by the U.K. government in retaliation for attacks on the British Embassy in Tehran.
Tehran's relations with Britain have become increasingly strained in recent months, largely due to tensions over Tehran's refusal to halt uranium enrichment ? a process that can lead to the development of nuclear weapons.
The diplomats will be flying out of Heathrow Airport on a chartered IranAir plane around 4 p.m., according to an employee of IranAir in London who refused to give his name because he said he was not allowed to speak to the media.

BOSTON ? A Salvadoran former military officer accused of colluding in the deaths of six Jesuit priests has been charged in Massachusetts with lying under oath and making false statements on immigration forms to remain in the United States.
Inocente Orlando Montano was among 20 Salvadorans indicted in Spain this year in the 1989 slayings during El Salvador's 12-year civil war. The 69-year-old has been living in Everett, Mass., just outside Boston.
He was charged Tuesday in federal court in Boston with lying about his military history and role in the deaths of the Jesuit priests in a bid to secure a temporary protected status in the U.S.
A trial date hasn't been set.
Montano has denied involvement in the slayings. His attorney hasn't returned a phone call seeking comment.
