Mitch Daniels for president? of Purdue University?

This week, Purdue University officials will vote on the school?s next president. And one possible candidate is Indiana Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels, WISH-TV reports.

Daniels is finishing up his second term as governor of Indiana and has remained popular throughout his years in office. Due to term limits, he will not be able to run again.

Before the Republican presidential primaries, Daniels was a popular choice for U.S. president. Many were disappointed when he announced he would not run. He is also on the list of possible running mates for presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Daniels previously served as president of the Hudson Institute and as a vice president of Eli Lilly and Co. He was George W. Bush?s White House budget director between 2001 and 2003.
