Recently, a bill to end the retroactive application of the Medical Treatment Guidelines under the New York State Workers? Compensation Law has passed the Assembly.? The bill is now headed to the Senate for consideration.
All injured workers who sustained injures before 12/01/10 are hoping that the Guidelines are struck down.? The Medical Treatment Guidelines has served one purpose, to limit the injured workers? access to necessary medical care.? The inequitable savings is passed onto the insurance carriers and employers.
We will keep you posted on the outcome of the Senate vote.
Injured workers are encouraged to contact their local Senator to urge them to pass this bill.? You can find out who your State Senator is by going to www.nysenate.gov and using Find My Senator.
