Princess of Wales? Royal Regiment to parade through High Barnet town centre

The British military?s most decorated regiment will exercise its freedom of the borough with a parade through High Barnet town centre later this month.
Thousands are expected to turn out to watch the Princess of Wales? Royal Regiment march along High Street on Saturday, July 20.
The regiment, also known as the Tigers, was handed the freedom of the borough in 1998 when it succeeded the Queen?s Regiment.
Its soldiers have completed numerous tours of Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as providing security at last summer?s Olympic Games.
The parade will begin at 11am and will travel along the High Street from Queen Elizabeth Girls? School to St Albans Road, where a rolling road block will be in place.
Mayor of Barnet Melvin Cohen said: ?The Princess of Wales?s Royal Regiment has a number of long and venerable links to the borough.
?It is one of a small number of regiments which hold the freedom of the borough and with that the privilege to mount a freedom parade such as this.
?It?s a tremendous honour for Barnet to have the regiment on parade and I would encourage as many people as possible to turn out on the day to line the route and cheer them on.?
