Microsoft Store offering 10 percent off Surface and other products to students

Microsoft is already offering a way for students to purchase a Surface RT tablet for just $199, from now until August 31st, in a number of countries. Now, yet another new promotion has been launched that will help students, faculty members and qualified staff get a 10 percent discount on any Surface tablet, along with other products.

A page on the Microsoft Store website reveals that from now until December 31st, any student, faculty, or staff member that has an .edu email address can go to the site, enter it and receive a 10 percent coupon that can be redeemed there. The page indicates that in addition to the Surface tablet, the coupon can also be used for buying software and accessories such as headphones, speakers, mice, keyboards and more.

Since an .edu email address is required, this offer will likely be limited just to US students and faculty members. It also appears to be limited to just the Microsoft Store website. In other words, you can't print the coupon and then take it to your local Microsoft Store retail location. It's still a pretty nice offer if you need some new hardware and software for the upcoming school season.
