Officials at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility will test the lab?s tornado warning siren Friday, according to a news release. The siren used to alert people at the lab working outside to seek shelter when there is a tornado or tornado watch in the area.

Jefferson Lab?s siren test, which uses a wavering tone, will take place at 10:30 a.m. and may last from 30 seconds to three minutes, the release stated.
