Google Nexus 7 2 available now in the UK

Google has finally made its Google Nexus 7 2 tablet available to UK customers.

The considerably improved 7-inch tablet can be ordered now from the UK Google Play Store, with prices starting from ?199 for the 16GB model and rising to ?239 for the 32GB version.

Shipping appears to be free for a limited time, and in addition to the tablet itself, you can also buy the official case. This comes in a single black and grey design and costs ?24.99.

August 28 had previously been pegged as the UK release date for the 2013 Nexus 7 by the tablet's manufacturer, Asus, and it seems the company was right on the money.

In our review of Google's latest tablet, we concluded that "the Nexus 7 2 is better in almost every single way than its predecessor. It?s slicker, faster and sleeker than any other 7-inch tablet on the market right now."

A large part of its appeal stems from its 7-inch 1,920 x 1,200 display, which produces a stunning 323ppi. That makes it the sharpest tablet screen on the market, not to mention twice as pixel-rich as the iPad mini.

With a more-than-capable 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro and the very latest version of the Andriod OS (Android 4.3) running without any cumbersome modifications, the Nexus 7 2 is a fine performer too.

Besides the UK, the Google Nexus 7 2 is also now available in Germany, France, Spain and Japan.
